What's in a name?

Bistro 163 is one of 50 such Community Cafés that have sprung up throughout the US. This model addresses hunger issues in a dignified manner while providing an avenue for building relationships.

We chose the name "Bistro 163" as it communicates our intention to serve fresh food prepared from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients, a "farm to table" approach. The café's location, on Perry Street in Port Clinton, is part of State Route 163 stretching from Oak Harbor to Marblehead, our target service area of Ottawa County.

Lighthouse Award Winner

The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce "Lighthouse Award" was presented to Bistro 163. Chef Stacy Maple accepted the award, flanked by Bistro board members Ed Carlson and Jack Resetar. Nominations for Bistro 163 highlighted our work in addressing hunger, and especially our Snack and Study Program for school age children. The chamber awards committee placed the excellence of the programs at Bistro 163 in the coveted “Lighthouse” category, for excellence in our field. The awards banquet was held at Mon Ami April 20.
