What's in a name?
Bistro 163 is one of 50 such Community Cafés that have sprung up throughout the US. This model addresses hunger issues in a dignified manner while providing an avenue for building relationships.
We chose the name “Bistro 163” as it communicates our intention to serve fresh food prepared from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients, a “farm to table” approach. The café’s location, on Perry Street in Port Clinton, is part of State Route 163 stretching from Oak Harbor to Marblehead, our target service area of Ottawa County.

2020 Community Service Award
The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce conferred the 2020 Community Service Award on Bistro 163, for providing more than 22,000 free dinners to residents of Ottawa County during the pandemic shutdown, mid-March through July of 2020. “Feed The Need” was supported by generous financial or in-kind donations given by almost 100 organizations and 372 individuals. Meals prepared by Bistro 163 staff and volunteers were provided take-out style, or delivered to homes. Free community dinners continue to be offered on the second and fourth Mondays of every month.

- Patrons are encouraged to pay more than the suggested price to help others enjoy a meal
- If unable to pay, give your time in service as payment

We use simple, natural honest ingredients supplied by local farms and artisans whenever possiable.
Our house created recipes are handcrafted with care and time and serviced by local volunteers.
